Grow Together

🌱 Grow Together: Volunteer to Grow Food for Your Community

Help us feed 400 neighbors every week—one plant at a time.
Join AeroZona’s Grow Together initiative and become part of a powerful community working to grow fresh, healthy food for the Quartzsite Foodbank using sustainable, low-water methods.

Whether you have a small patio or a larger yard, we’ll help you build your own DIY aeroponic towers or hydroponic bucket system, using recycled and donated materials. You’ll grow food right where you live—and we’ll support you every step of the way.

🌽 What You’ll Do

As a Grow Together volunteer, you’ll join a team of local growers dedicated to providing weekly harvests of leafy greens, herbs, or vegetables to neighbors in need.

Each volunteer will:

  • Grow enough produce to feed at least 20 people weekly
  • Use a 4-tower aeroponic system (20 plants per tower = 80 total)
  • Harvest once per week on a shared schedule
  • Donate all produce to the Quartzsite Foodbank

Have more space? You can also opt to grow broccoli or other crops using the Kratky hydroponic bucket method.

đź’§ What We Provide

We’ll help you build your system and keep it growing strong with:

  • Buckets, barrels, tubing, net cups, seeds, nutrients, and more
  • Hands-on group build days and workshops
  • Printed and digital how-to guides
  • Ongoing support from AeroZona and your volunteer cohort
  • Optional solar-powered pump setups if you’re off-grid

All time and labor are donated—we’ll supply the materials, and you supply the heart.

🧑‍🌾 Who Can Join

We welcome:

  • Residents with yards, patios, or RV lots
  • People with no growing experience (we’ll teach you!)
  • Those who want to make a real difference in local food access
  • Folks with more land or time to help grow larger crops

You must be willing to:

  • Commit to weekly care and harvest
  • Join our community growing team
  • Deliver (or arrange delivery of) produce each week
  • Stay in touch for updates and group coordination

🚗 What We’ll Ask

On the volunteer intake form, we’ll ask about:

  • Your available space and water access
  • Your ability to transport produce
  • Your time availability
  • Your interest in growing towers, buckets, or both
  • Whether you’d like to help other growers as a peer mentor or helper

đź“… Timeline

We’re recruiting now and plan to build and plant together in early 2026, so we can all harvest on the same schedule and start delivering food by March.
